Less Back Pain

Results from Field trial in Finland 2017

The field trial hosted by the insurance company LähiTapiola main office in Espoo Helsinki (www.lahitapiola.fi). The field trial was headed by Tuukka Nieminen in Motivire OY (www.motivire.fi). 

• 70 Participants filled in a questionnaire at September 1^st 2016.
• They left their former office chair behind and used Backapp Chair and Backapp 360
• After 6 months, they reported effects of Backapp Chair and Backapp 360.

In the questionnaire, they were asked:
Think back on a normal work week and reply on a scale from 1 to 5.

1 = Regular lower back pain and problems
5 = No lower back pain or problem

Before the trial 22 persons reported back pains on the scale 1, 2 and 3. After the 6 months’ trial period using Backapp chair and Backapp 360, the number of persons reporting back pains on the scale 1, 2 and 3 was reduced to 5.

Before the trial 48 persons reported no back pains or problems (scale 4 & 5) were 48. After the 6 months’ trial period using Backapp chair and Backapp 360, the number of persons reporting no back pains or problems (scale 4 & 5) had increased to 65. In percentage, the number of people reporting no back pains or problems had increased from 68,5% to 92,9%. 

Fantastic results. Especially for all the persons having less lower back pains and problems. Most of us know the difference between having back pains or not. What it means for wellbeing and effort at work!

The positive results were expected since we have seen the same in scientific studies published in Ergonomics
